GAINESVILLE, Fla. — An elite receiver is coming to Florida for the first time in several years.
Four-star recruit Tyrie Cleveland, the nation’s No. 2-ranked wideout, committed to UF on Wednesday over Arkansas, Houston and TCU.
Cleveland, a previous pledge to the Cougars, officially visited Florida last weekend and the Gators won him over.
He was primarily recruited by UF receivers coach Kerry Dixon II, who is a Houston native.
The 6-foot-3, 190-pound Cleveland is Florida’s fifth receiver in the 2016 class and the most highly touted signee at the position for the Gators since Percy Harvin.
