One of the biggest concerns for Florida last year was its offensive line.
The Gators are now without a returning starter for 2016. Offensive guard Antonio Riles suffered a torn ACL and will require surgery, a source confirmed to SEC Country. Gator Country first reported the news.
“Antonio Riles went down today with a leg,” Florida head coach Jim McElwain said on Monday night. “I have no idea how serious it is.”
Riles started the first six games last year for the Gators, and played in 11 total. The junior was expected to compete for one of the guard spots on the Florida line. Last year, Florida gave up the most sacks in the SEC, with 45. Riles is Lawrenceville, Ga., native and was orginally a defensive lineman when he first arrived in Gainesville, Fla.
