Zech Byrd has made his college choice, finally.

Report: Former Florida TE commit Zech Byrd going junior college route instead

Shortly after not inking on national signing day, Florida tight end Zech Byrd didn’t really want to talk about his recruiting situation.

Six months later, at least now Gators fans know where he stands.

According to the 247Sports.com Florida site, Byrd is signed to play in junior college with Garden City Community College in Kansas.

The 3-star tight end from Millbrook, Ala., kept the reasoning to himself after not signing with the Gators in February.

Byrd, who is 6 foot 6 and 236 pounds, played at Stanhope Elmore in high school.

According to the Montgomery Advertiser, Byrd held offers from Alabama, Michigan, Florida, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Virginia Tech, Southern Miss, Toledo and Troy.
