LSU wasn’t having it, according to ESPN’s Brett McMurhpy, who cited a source.

Both schools play non-conference opponents that weekend, with the Gators taking on Presbyterian and LSU facing off against South Alabama.
Florida athletic director Jeremy Foley said Thursday that the buyout for the Presbyterian game would be a little $500,000, but a Florida spokesman said that figure is not official.
The Advocate’s Ross Dellenger reported the South Alabama buyout is $1.5 million, and that LSU makes around $3 million per home game.
“The money is not an issue,” Foley said Thursday. “Can it be worked out? Those are conversations you probably need to hold with the Southeastern Conference. If it can be worked out, we will be thrilled and excited and ready to play that football game.”
