It looks like the Florida coaches got rewarded for leading Florida to an SEC East title in Jim McElwain’s first season with the Gators.
Per Thomas Goldkamp of 247Sports through an open records requests, several Florida assistant coaches received raises and new contracts.
The biggest pay bump came for defensive coordinator Geoff Collins, who will make $900,000 this year, up from the $600,000 he made last year. Per the USA Today database, Collins was the 10th highest paid defensive coordinator in the SEC last season. The Gators ranked No. 8 defense in total defense last season.
Other Florida assistant coaches to receive new deals include co-defensive coordinator and former Miami head coach Randy Shannon, offensive line coach Mike Summers and defensive backs coach Torrian Gray. Defensive line coach Chris Rumph received and $85,ooo raise and an extension through 2017.
