Former College of Charleston star guard Canyon Barry, son of NBA Hall-of-Famer Rick Barry, will transfer to the University of Florida, according to ESPN’s Jeff Borzello.

Barry’s immediate eligibility as a graduate transfer gives the Gators something they haven’t had in a while: veteran leadership and scoring in the backcourt.
The 6-foot-6 guard averaged 19.7 points per game, 3.4 rebounds and 40 percent shooting last season. No Gator averaged more than 14.7 points last season (senior forward Dorian Finney-Smith).
The 2015-16 season saw the Charleston star play in just 12 games after suffering a shoulder injury that ended his season.
Before choosing Florida, Barry had shown interest in Cal, Kansas, Louisville, Miami, Northwestern, and Ole Miss.
