Three SEC schools got some good news on the basketball recruiting front on Saturday. Florida, Vanderbilt and Tennessee made the cut along with five other schools for the services of one of Florida’s top basketball players.
Victor Uyaelunmo, a 2017 center out of Miami, released his top eight on Twitter on Saturday.

Uyaelunmo, listed at 7-foot and 210 pounds, is the No. 6 prospect in Florida for the Class of 2017. He’s also the No. 10 center and a four-star recruit. Interestingly, Vanderbilt and Pittsburgh are among his final schools. Former Vanderbilt head coach Kevin Stallings left the Commodores to coach the Panthers this offseason. Bryce Drew took over for Stallings at Vanderbilt in April.
Of the SEC teams that made Uyaelunmo’s list, only Vanderbilt made the NCAA tournament last season. While Drew will be in his first season, Florida head coach Mike White and Tennessee head coach Rick Barnes will be in their second seasons at their respective schools.
