It’s been seven years since Tim Tebow suited up for the Gators, but he’s still having a lasting effect on the Florida football program.
Several prospects in this year’s recruiting cycle have mentioned Tebow as one of the main reasons they like UF. Many grew up watching him when he won two national championships and a Heisman Trophy at Florida, and his past success is helping the Gators with recruiting now.
Their newest commitment, 4-star cornerback Elijah Blades, told SEC Country that Florida has always been his dream school because of Tebow. It’s hard to find kids in California who root for UF, but that’s the kind of national appeal and reach Tebow had.
