Florida uses late FG to beat Vanderbilt
One week after a dominant win over UGA, No. 10 Florida is falling apart against unranked Vanderbilt at home.
The Gators trail the Commodores, 7-6, with 30 minutes to play. Here’s how they got there:
Florida has three turnovers on the day. Entering the game, the Gators had six turnovers for the entire season. Gators quarterback Treon Harris threw his first interception of the season late in the second quarter and fumbled, too. One play after the interception, Vanderbilt running back Ralph Webb scored a 74-yard rushing TD.
Lack of kicking game
Walk-on kicker Neil MacInnes missed an extra point and it’s obvious the coaching staff doesn’t trust him, as the Gators tried to fake a field goal. CeCe Jefferson fumbled on the fake field goal.
