At the very least, Florida punter Johnny Townsend flipped the field position for his team. At most, he showed a group of middle school students how to properly deliver a kickball home run.
During a visit with the Gators football team to Lawton Chiles Middle School in Oviedo, Fl., Townsend sent the pitch flying over everyone’s heads and into the woods. A teammate documented it for him on Snapchat:

Judging by both the audible and visible reactions of the kids, they were impressed by how far Townsend kicked the ball but at the same time disappointed knowing recess was ruined. However, as he says in his Tweet, Townsend and his teammates were sure to return the fun to the afternoon by letting the students win in the end.
It’s been a spring of long balls for Florida players who make their names with their feet, as kicker Eddy Piñiero made an 81-yard field goal in practice a couple weeks ago.
