GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Wednesday marked the final preseason practice for the Florida football team.
The Gators will start implementing their game plan Thursday for the season opener against UMass. There will be no more open practices the rest of the week.
The media didn’t get to see much Wednesday, but here are a few notes:
- During half-skeleton work, starting quarterback Luke Del Rio hit wide receivers Ahmad Fulwood and Brandon Powell on a seam routes.
- Safety Marcell Harris jumped an out route by Fulwood and picked off Del Rio. Defensive coordinator Geoff Collins also praised Harris for good coverage on another play.
- Meanwhile, safety Marcus Maye let an interception go through his hands and receiver Antonio Callaway stayed with the ball to make a nice catch.
