WATCH: Florida’s one-handed basketball player scores first career points
A great moment happened at the end of Florida’s matchup against Jacksonville in basketball on Tuesday night.
Zach Hodskins, a walk-on player for the Gators scored his first career points. What’s remarkable about that feat is Hodskins was born without a portion of his left arm. That hasn’t stopped him from playing basketball, which obviously is a sport that would normally require both of your hands.
The 6-foot-4 guard joined Florida last season and had played in nine career games but had never scored before Tuesday’s game.
The moment happened when Hodskins spun into the lane before finishing at the bucket with a layup on the and-1 opportunity.
Florida ended up beating Jacksonville 89-65, but the most meaningful two points were definitely Hodskins’.
