Many people who are paid to have an opinion on sports have offered all kinds of “hot takes” on what former Florida quarterback Tim Tebow should be doing instead of chasing his dream of being a a NFL quarterback.
But while seemingly thousands of opinions from all corners of the sports media world have fallen flat, an obscure YouTube user by the screen name of “DK3CHAMP” appears to have been the one that had it right all along.
A report surfaced on Tuesday morning informing the world that Tim Tebow is focusing on pursuing a career in professional baseball.
That’s exactly the advice “DK3CHAMP” tried giving Tebow back on May 2, 2013.
In a five-minute video titled “Advice to Tim Tebow: Try to become an MLB player,” this YouTube user makes his case for Tebow to do the unthinkable in giving up his football career to resume a game he has not played full-time since his junior year of high school in 2005.
The description of his video makes his case, in summary:
“I really believe that Tebow’s NFL playing career is now over, even at Linebacker. I really think he should refocus his sites on becoming a Major League Baseball player. Why is that? Because he already is built like an MLB player. He’s 6 Foot 3, and 240 pounds with a muscular body. Plus he was a pretty good high school baseball player as well. I really believe he could rise like phoenix, and become a really good ballplayer if he wanted to.”
At the time, this was likely laughed off as a fan vlog with a pipe dream of an idea. Given Tuesday’s news, this guy is coming off like a genius.
