Plenty of people have questions for SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey after the postponement of Saturday’s LSU-Florida game in Gainesville.
After appearing on CBS earlier in the day, Sankey appeared on the SEC Network to answer questions about what’s next and when the game could be played.
“Safety is first and I’ve seen stories of the people who have been affected by (Hurricane Matthew),” Sankey said. “But we want to play this game.”
Sankey didn’t answer any hypothetical questions about when the game could be played. He did say that a number of people have mentioned Nov. 19, when Florida and LSU both play nonconference games.
“I want to be careful to not speculate on what may or may not work,” Sankey said.
Sankey said he has the final say on whether a game can be canceled or postponed. Sankey added that he talked to leaders from both schools on a conference call, but nothing has been decided.
The game was scheduled for noon ET on Saturday.
