A female University of Florida student was arrested early Sunday on a charge of battery after allegedly punching rising sophomore defensive end Antonneous Clayton in the head.
According to Meryl Kornfield of the student newspaper The Independent Florida Alligator, Aisia Shakiyla Valmyr, 18, was arrested on a battery charge after the incident, which was in Keys Residential Complex on campus.
The newspaper cited a police report, which said Clayton told police he was punched and felt pain on the right side of his temple. After being arrested, Valmyr admitted to having an argument with Clayton, according to the report.
Clayton played five games for the Gators this season, recording 3 tackles. Clayton, of Vienna, Ga., was the No. 26 recruit nationally, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. He should be in the mix for playing time on the defensive line next season.
