The 2025 season for the Georgia Bulldogs may not have ended the way we all hoped, but it’s good to step back and remember that, although not perfect, the Dawgs not only have the greatest coach in college football but one of the greatest of all time.
With that said, I just wanted to drop in with a quick reminder to Georgia fans. I’m feeling the same way as the rest of you. Frustrated, angry and obviously sad to see UGA football end for the next 8 months or so. But I was just doing some thinking, and it hit me. These are the glory days, and it’s hard remember that sometimes. It feels like a decade ago that Georgia beat TCU to complete the back-to-back. We’re only three seasons removed from that. And in two of those seasons, we won the SEC Championship Game. In the other, we should have.
In 10 years as head coach, Kirby Smart has a 117-21 record, for an 85% winning percentage. This season, Kirby broke the all-time record for the most wins in a coach’s first 10 seasons in the history of the modern era. Literally, no one has ever won more games in their first 10 years than Smart. In the last 5 years against Florida, Georgia Tech, Auburn and Tennessee, Georgia is 20-0. Let that sink in.
Oh, and he has won 2 national championships, which is doubling the total from the previous 125 years.

Under Kirby Smart, the Dawgs have absolutely dominated the competition, unlike any other time in the school’s history. If you told a fan 20 years ago that UGA would have that type of success, they would cry tears of joy.
It is totally okay to be upset about not winning the national championship and even placing blame where it’s due. Just because Georgia has had success doesn’t mean fans can’t ever be critical or not be disappointed. This year felt like it was ours, and it’s frustrating to see Georgia fall short the way they did, but in almost 135 years of playing football, there has never been a better time to be a UGA fan, and maybe there won’t be again.
We are in the glory days! Enjoy it! Trust in Kirby! Go Dawgs!
