The Georgia Bulldogs and Kirby Smart are looking to add talent to their 2026 roster after an early exit from the College Football Playoff. Since National Signing Day has come and gone, the only way to do that is through the transfer portal. The Dawgs have lost 11 players to the portal and have added 5. On3 currently ranks Georgia as having the No. 40 transfer portal class in the nation.
On Friday, UGA got some great news in the form of a commitment from East Carolina safety Ja’Marley Riddle. This gives the Dawgs a total of three defensive backs from the transfer portal.
Riddle is a sophomore from Kingsland, Georgia, and played football for Camden High School. Coming out of high school, he ranked as
the No. 1726 player in the nation and was considered a 3-star safety.
According to CFBStats, Riddle led the East Carolina Pirates in tackles with 70. He also had 4 tackles for loss, 6 pass breakups, 3 interceptions, and a fumble recovery.
Georgia and Smart have put a real priority on getting safety KJ Bolden some help this offseason. According to On3, the Dawgs added 3 safeties, 2 of whom are back in the portal. Because they didn’t work out, Georgia has had to once again target the safety position. Enter Riddle, who should have no trouble inserting himself into the competition to start at safety.
