Jae Lamar, UGA’s 4-star running back commit from Moultrie, Georgia, committed to the Dawgs on June 25, 2025, just ahead of his senior season at Colquitt County.
Georgia football’s 2026 recruiting class currently ranks as the No. 2 class in all of college football, per 247Sports, with 30 commitments, trailing only the USC Trojans. The class is headlined by 5-star quarterback commit Jared Curtis (Nashville, TN), with Lamar serving as a big piece of that as well.
Lamar ranks as the nation’s No. 165 overall player and as the No. 11-ranked running back in his class, per 247Sports. He is considered Georgia’s 11th highest-ranked commitment in the Bulldogs’ 2026 recruiting class.
When Lamar chose Georgia in June, he did so over Florida State, Auburn, Clemson and Miami. On Friday, Lamar decided to shut the whole thing down and make it clear that he’s 100% committed to Kirby Smart and the UGA program, telling Rivals that he is ‘locked in with Georgia.’
“Teams like Clemson, Miami, Florida State, Colorado and more have been trying to make a push for me,” Lamar told Rivals. “No schools have really made me think about flipping to them and I am locked in with Georgia. I have shut down my recruitment.”
Georgia’s set to host Texas this Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. ET in Sanford Stadium. The top 10 SEC matchup will also serve as a chance for Smart to host a number of big-time recruits and commitments for the Bulldogs, including the nation’s No. 1 running back in the 2027 recruiting class, Kemon Spell.
Additionally, Georgia’s expected to host a number of commits in its 2026 cycle.
