Sportsbooks Name Favorite for Georgia-Texas Game on Saturday

This Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC, the No. 5-ranked Georgia Bulldogs (8-1, 6-1) will host the No. 10 Texas Longhorns (7-2, 4-1) from Sanford Stadium for the Dawgs’ final SEC game of the 2025 college football season.

Coming into the season, this game was considered the biggest on Georgia’s schedule, right up there with the Alabama game, which is UGA’s only loss up to this point. Ole Miss wound up being a big-time one as well, with the Rebels being ranked No. 5 in the nation when Georgia hosted them in October.

Heading into the game, Vegas sees Georgia as a 6.5-point home favorite over Texas. That’s what both ESPN Bet and FanDuel have the spread at as of Sunday night. ESPN Bet has the over/under at 47.5. No moneyline released right now.

Georgia’s fresh off a 41-21 win on the road over Mississippi State — probably its most complete game of the season so far. Quarterback Gunner Stockton was hitting on all cylinders, throwing for three touchdowns and no interceptions, while running back Natie Frazier needed only 12 carries to tally 181 yards and a score.

As for Texas, Arch Manning and the Longhorns were off on Saturday to prep for UGA, but their offense has been lackluster all season despite all the preseason hype that came with their No. 1 ranking. Offensively, they rank No. 72 in the FBS with 381 yards per game, behind four other Texas teams, all of which actually rank inside the top-17 (North Texas at No. 5 in the nation). Defensively, they’ve been good but not great, ranked No. 22 in the FBS, allowing 313.6 yards per game.

Georgia’s been better, but also not great. UGA’s offense ranks No. 32 at 436.3 yards per game. Its defense ranks No. 20, allowing 310.8 yards per game. But the Dawgs have always seemed to get it done when they needed to. Except that time against Bama.

ESPN’s football Power Index is an advanced metric that measures team strength and predicts performance throughout the season. It gives Georgia a 59.8% chance of winning the game – up from 57.% on Saturday.
