Georgia trending for multiple top 300 recruits early in 2027 class

Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs are already building some serious momentum in the 2027 recruiting cycle and they are just getting started.

Georgia has already secured six commitments in the 2027 class and currently sits at No. 2 nationally in the ON3 industry recruiting rankings. With multiple blue-chip prospects still heavily in play, the Bulldogs are positioning themselves to make another leap in the standings.

One of the top targets Georgia has firmly positioned itself for is four-star tight end Brock Williams. Tight ends coach Todd Hartley has once again made the position a top priority, and Georgia seems to be in a strong position as Williams is closing in on a decision.

Williams recently trimmed his list to Georgia, Ohio State, and Texas, with a decision expected in early spring. After making the trip to Athens for Junior Day at the end of January, the Bulldogs appear to have gained serious momentum in his recruitment.

Chad Simmons of ON3 believes this could be his final visit before making his college decision. The 6-foot-5 tight end from Libertyville, Illinois, ranks as the No. 49 player and the No. 2 tight end in the 2027 class.

Another top target recruit Georgia appears to be trending strongly for is in-state four-star offensive tackle Joshua Sam-Epelle. The 6-foot-8 standout from Douglasville, Georgia, has quickly risen to the top of the board for new Georgia offensive line coach Phil Rauscher and might be the top in-state priority for the Dawgs.

Sam-Epelle appeared close to a decision multiple times, and if a decision was made, it was believed to be Georgia each time. While Miami is a team looking to get heavily involved, the Bulldogs are still considered the team to beat. Ranked as the No. 53 overall player in the country and the No. 8 offensive tackle in the 2027 class, landing Sam-Epelle would be a major in-state statement for the Dawgs.

Here are some more top targets Georgia seems to be trending in the right direction for.

Four-star OT Jimmy Kalis: The four-star offensive tackle out of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, made his way to Athens for Junior Day at the end of January, and the trip appears to have paid dividends. According to Chad Simmons of ON3, Georgia made a significant move following the visit. The 6-foot-6, 285-pound lineman is expected to make his decision between Georgia, Ohio State, Texas, and a few others. Kalis currently sits as the No. 183 player and the No. 16 offensive tackle in the 2027 class.

Four-star LB Noah Glover: Georgia identified the four-star linebacker early and has made him a priority ever since extending him an offer. Glover recently cut his list to six, including Georgia, Oregon, Notre Dame, Miami, Texas A&M, and Virginia Tech. Simmons of ON3 has recently noted that he likes where Georgia sits. The 6-foot-1 linebacker checks in as the No. 211 player and the No. 11 linebacker in the 2027 class.

Four-star WR Amare Patterson: Patterson has quickly emerged as a top target for Georgia and wide receiver coach James Coley. Florida appears to be the main challenger for the Bulldogs, while LSU recently entered the picture with giving Patterson an offer this month. Patterson already has a return trip to Athens set and that will occur as an official visit on May 15th. Still, Georgia looks like the team to beat for Patterson as he heads into his official visits. The 6-foot-0 playmaker out of Ridgeland, South Carolina ranks as the No. 290 overall and the No. 37 wide receiver in the 2027 class.

Four-star S Jayden Aparicio-Bailey: one of the fastest-rising defensive backs in the cycle, Aparicio-Bailey has seen his recruitment surge in recent months. The four-star safety attended Georgia’s Junior Day in January, and it appears Georgia has positioned themselves well. While prying top prospects out of Alabama is never easy, there’s growing belief that the Prattville native is open to leaving the state. Simmons of ON3 has also expressed optimism about Georgia’s standing here. The 6-foot-2 safety ranks as the No. 309 overall player and the No. 29 safety in the 2027 class.

While recruiting sits in a dead period where contact is prohibited in-person, Georgia and Kirby Smart has positioned themselves strong heading into official visit season in May.
