Devon Gales’ high school honors him by painting football field
The outpouring of support for injured Southern player Devon Gales has been extensive since he suffered a major spinal injury while playing against UGA on Sept. 26. On Friday night, Central High School in Baton Rouge, La. — of which Gales is a graduate — will join the long list of people and schools to honor him while he works toward recovery.
Gales tweeted out a screencap of Facebook photos depicting Central’s football field, which had its end zones painted with UGA and Southern logos. According to Facebook user Kimberly J. August, the school’s coaches will also wear shirts meant to further recognize Gales as he battles incredibly difficult circumstances.
This also isn’t the first moving gesture made for Gales by Central. Earlier this month, players wore blue and gold ribbon stickers on their helmets for him, according to WBRZ in Baton Rouge.
