Former Georgia TE Arthur Lynch is coming home to Georgia.
The former Bulldog signed a free agent contract with the Atlanta Falcons, the franchise announced on Wednesday.
Lynch was a five-year player under former head coach Mark Richt at Georgia. During a standout career, he was named All-SEC First Team as a senior in 2013. He was also named one of the team’s permanent offensive captains. In 51 games at Georgia (26 starts), Lynch compiled 907 receiving yards and eight touchdowns.
Since being picked in the fifth round of the 2014 NFL Draft, Lynch has floated around the NFL. He appeared on the Miami Dolphins roster until being placed on injured reserve. He has also signed practice squad contracts with the New York Jets and Denver Broncos in the past year.
After the signing, the Atlanta Falcons sit at 88 players on the active roster heading into training camp. The roster will be cut to 53 by the time the final rosters are released.
