HBO will provide fans a behind-the-scenes look at Rams training camp as the franchise continues its transition from St. Louis to Los Angeles. The Rams will be the ninth different team to appear on the show, and their 2015 Offensive Rookie of the Year will be one of the show’s top headliners.
Gurley ran for 1,106 yards and 10 touchdowns in just 13 games during his rookie campaign. Fans will get an in-depth look at Gurley’s preparation to build off of his stellar rookie season when the season kicks off on Aug. 9 at 10 p.m.
Former Georgia tight ends coach John Lilly will make his “Hard Knocks” debut in addition to Gurley. The Rams hired Lilly as the team’s tight ends coach in February.
Some deem “Hard Knocks” to be distracting for the participating team, but this theory isn’t exactly true. The Cincinnati Bengals (2009, 2013), New York Jets (2010) and Houston Texans (2015) each made the postseason the same year they were televised, and the last six teams to appear have either equaled or improved their win totals from the previous season.
