INDIANAPOLIS — Georgia has lost its two best linebackers to the draft — Leonard Floyd and Jordan Jenkins. There’s someone on the roster that Jenkins believes is just as good as those two players.
Jenkins told SEC Country that he thinks it’s time for Lorenzo Carter to now shine, and he believes Carter is ready to be a leader for the Bulldogs.
“I feel like the pressure is definitely there,” Jenkins said of Carter during his media session at the NFL combine. He’s a freakish athlete. I feel like he’s a blend of me and Leonard (Floyd). He’s got the height, the size and strength. He’s at about 7 percent body fat and around 240 pounds. He has all of the tools in the world to be dominant and successful. I feel like the pressure is definitely going to be on him and Davin Bellamy as well. It’s going to be interesting to see how coach (Kirby) Smart and the defensive staff uses him next year.”
Carter finished last season with only 19 tackles in 10 games.
