Former UGA star and current Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley has the potential to become the franchise’s next legendary tailback — and L.A.’s next transcendent star. He’s already received a glowing endorsement from the Rams’’s all-time iconic rusher.
Hall of Fame running back Eric Dickerson gave Gurley more than just his blessing Wednesday afternoon. Dickerson praised Gurley on Twitter in response to former Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson paying tribute to current king of L.A. Kobe Bryant, who is playing the final game of his 20-year NBA career on Wednesday night.

That’s extremely high praise from one of the best running backs of all-time. Dickerson played for the Rams during his first five seasons from 1983-87. He rushed for 7,245 yards and 56 touchdowns during his tenure and is the NFL’s seventh-leading all-time rusher with 13,259 career yards.
Gurley also thanked Bryant, otherwise known as “The Black Mamba,” on Twitter.

Dickerson has passed the torch to Gurley as the Rams transition back to Los Angeles. The former Bulldog, who had a sensational rookie season, certainly has big shoes to fill.
