There has been plenty of criticism of UGA coach Mark Richt following the team’s recent struggles, but he is receiving public support from the mother of kicker Marshall Morgan, according to a report from 247sports.
A message posted to the Facebook account of Dana Morgan-Murphy emphatically supports the longtime UGA coach.
It’s fitting that Morgan-Murphy would publicly defend Richt. A conversation between Richt and Morgan, shortly before the kicker nailed a game-winning field goal against Missouri, went viral a few weeks ago and highlighted why so many people believe Richt remains the right man to lead UGA.
UGA (5-3, 3-3 SEC) will host Kentucky (4-4, 2-4) at noon on Saturday. The game will be televised on SEC Network.
