Former UGA star and current Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Justin Houston had his ACL “fixed” last month, according to a report from Chiefs.com’s BJ Kissel.
Kissel reports that Houston’s ACL was not torn, but was not functioning properly. The Kansas City Star’s Terez A. Paylor reports that the recovery timetable will be between six and 12 months, which means Houston’s 2016 season is likely in jeopardy.
The sixth-year pro played in only 11 games last year and recorded just 7.5 sacks; it was the first time in four seasons the sack machine did not produce at least 10. Houston sacked the quarterback a whopping 22 times in 2014 and earned a monstrous contract extension worth $101 million last July.
