Report: UGA DC Jeremy Pruitt would not follow Mark Richt to Miami, interested in Michigan
News that former UGA coach Mark Richt is expected to fill the coaching vacancy at Miami, his alma mater, has highlighted what has already been a furious Wednesday for coaching moves, shakeups and rumblings. The latest twist in this saga: Bulldogs defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt is not expected to follow his old boss to The U, according to Josh Newberg of 247sports.
With Dawg Nation reporting that Alabama defensive coordinator Kirby Smart will be UGA’s next head coach, Pruitt’s future now becomes a primary question among all of this dramatic overturn. He has drawn plenty of interest from other schools — Newberg also reports that Pruitt would be interested in taking over for newly hired Maryland coach D.J. Durkin as Michigan defensive coordinator — but UGA’s current players have also been quite vocal in their support for him.
