No action led to no movement for the Georgia Bulldogs in the Week 8 SEC Country Power Poll.
Georgia had its annual bye this week ahead of the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party against Florida next weekend in Jacksonville, Fla. As a result the Bulldogs sat tight at No. 9. It’s the fourth consecutive week Georgia has held that spot.
The poll consists of 22 voters from SEC Country and around the nation.
The Bulldogs are once again unranked in the AP and coaches polls. Florida is ranked 14th in the AP and 12th in the coaches poll.
The game against Florida this weekend presents Georgia an opportunity to get its season back on track after a devastating loss to Vanderbilt the last time out. However, the Gators come into this game with everything to play for. The only blemish on Florida’s record is a loss to Tennessee, and since the Vols lost to Texas A&M and Alabama, the Gators control their own destiny in the SEC East.
Florida thrashed Georgia in the WLOCP last season. Kelvin Taylor rushed for 121 yards and 2 touchdowns in the rout. The Gator defense also dominated, picking off former Georgia, current Colorado State quarterback Faton Bauta four times.
Florida is ranked sixth in this week’s SEC Country Power Poll, one spot down from last week.
Alabama and Texas A&M continue to hold down the Nos. 1 and 2 spots, but Auburn after a beatdown of Arkansas catapulted it from sixth.
