Sidelines are supposed to be a safe place in the midst of an SEC showdown, but that was not the case for UGA defensive back Rico McGraw during Saturday’s rivalry game against Auburn.
After the Bulldogs’ defense held the Tiger’s offense, McGraw came off the field to be congratulated by his coaches and teammates. One coach got a little too excited.

McGraw dropped to his knees and was then tended to by UGA’s medical staff, but was not seriously injured. After the game, UGA coach Mark Richt commented on the hit by inside linebacker’s coach Mike Ekeler.
“He’s a fired up dude,” Richt said of Ekeler.
Richt didn’t know Ekeler had temporarily injured McGraw.
“He injured Rico? Oh I wish I didn’t know that,” Richt said, smiling.
