Keith Marshall blew the doors off the 2016 NFL Scouting Combine with a blazing time in the 40-yard dash on Friday, and his former teammates were fired up about it.
While the UGA running back’s official time was 4.31 seconds, his first run was timed by NFL Network at 4.29 seconds. Bulldogs linebacker Ryne Rankin tweeted a video of he and other players watching Marshall’s first run of the day and the celebration that ensued when a sub-4.3 time was shown.

Former UGA and Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley also took to Twitter and predicted that Marshall would impress just before the 40-yard dash for running backs began.

Marshall had only 68 rushing attempts in his junior season before declaring for the 2016 NFL Draft. His blazing time in the 40-yard dash and 25 reps in the bench press on Thursday represented one of the strongest performances of any running back at the Combine and raised further questions about Marshall’s lack of touches in 2015.
The UGA running back dealt with injuries during his collegiate career, including an ACL tear in 2013.
