There’s no doubt UGA graduate transfer Tyler Catalina will be one of the strongest players on the field next season.
The offensive tackle transfer from Rhode Island bench pressed more than 400 pounds five times during a hardcore Saturday morning workout. His brother, Tony, posted a video of Tyler’s lift on Twitter.

UGA secured a commitment from Tyler last February after the 6-foot-5, 315-pounder originally pledged to Iowa State. He was a vital addition, and could step in as an immediate upgrade at tackle, even if it’s only for one season. Tyler buys coach Kirby Smart more time to secure a long-term solution at the position.
“I’m looking for him to come in and compete right away,” Smart said of Tyler last month. “It’s not like it’s a deal where you can sit down there and say, You’re coming in fourth string. You’ve got to come in and compete.”
