Every year, the NFL combine produces a few feats of athleticism that will drop the jaws of even the most seasoned football fans. Georgia wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell certainly fits the bill this time around.
While performing route-running drills on Saturday, Mitchell deftly snagged a pass thrown well behind him by extending his left arm, tipping the ball to himself and securing it for an incredible catch. He also got about three steps in-bounds along the sideline for good measure.
Mitchell, who revealed that he will actually work out as a defensive back for one NFL team this weekend, also clocked in at 4.45 seconds in the 40-yard dash.
All in all, it’s shaping up to be a strong showing for the Georgia product, who caught 58 passes for 865 yards and five touchdowns as a senior. If he’s lucky, the scouts will be just as impressed as fans and media members seem to be.
