Kentucky survived a 34-27 overtime victory over Eastern Kentucky.
Sophomore receiver Dorian Baker caught a 5-yard touchdown in regulation and then pulled down a 3-yard touchdown in overtime to help Kentucky avoid the upset from the FCS team and improve to 4-1.
Here are 4 things every Kentucky fan needs to know today:
- Baker set a career-high with eight receptions for 86 yards and his 24 catches lead the team. His game-winning catch was his third touchdown of the season. Baker is also averaging 11.5 yards per catch and quickly becoming quarterback Patrick Towles’ favorite target.
- Cory Johnson set a record by recording the most tackles by a defensive tackle in program history with 19. He also had a sack and a hurry against Eastern Kentucky. Johnson’s performance earned praise from many on social media.
- Running back Stanley “Boom” Williams is set to return after he missed the game to deal with “personal issues.” Coach Mark Stoops said Williams will return to practice on Monday. He leads team in rushing and has eight receptions this year.
- Top recruit Jedrick Wills was in town. Wills, the 13th-best prospect by Rivals.com and a five-star recruit, is one of Kentucky’s top recruits in the class of 2017.
