Kentucky coach John Calipari picked up his first win of the season on Friday night, and then added another off-court victory Saturday afternoon when 5-star power forward Sacha Killeya-Jones signed his letter of intent.
The 6-foot-10 Virginia Episcopal School senior confirmed his commitment to the Wildcats after competing in a showcase Saturday. Several reporters were on hand to witness the ceremony, with Kyle Ellis being the first to tweet it.
247Sports.com lists Killeya-Jones as the nation’s No. 8 power forward and No. 26 overall player.
He’s part of a group of four players that have either signed or committed to Kentucky in 2015. Wenyen Gabriel (a 5-star forward) and De’Aaron Fox (the nation’s top point guard) are also on board, while 4-star forward Tai Wynyard has enrolled at the university to become part of the ’15 class.
Kentucky’s two biggest remaining targets are 5-star guards Malik Monk and Kobi Simmons. The current signing period ends on Nov. 18.
