5-star guard booed by high school fans after choosing Kentucky
Malik Monk chose Kentucky over Arkansas this week, and fans in his home state are none too pleased.
The nation’s No. 1 combo guard (247Sports.com) is a senior at Bentonville High (Ark.), and he received a rude welcome from Conway High fans on Thursday night.
Video from KATV (via CollegeSpun.com) shows Conway supporters booing Monk during his pregame introduction, and then “calling the Hogs,” a traditional Razorbacks cheer that involves plenty of wagging fingers, fist pumps and shouts of “Woo Pig! Sooie!”
Monk did not appear fazed en route to scoring 34 points in the road win.
