Colin Cowherd continues to question Kentucky head coach John Calipari following the Wildcats’ Elite Eight loss to North Carolina.
The radio host slammed Calipari for letting the Tar Heels come back to take a 75-73 win when it appeared the Wildcats were in control in the second half. He also criticized Calipari for failing to make a longer tournament run, despite having a wealth of future NBA talent on his roster.
“So I think the questions about Calipari are legitimate,” Cowherd said. “He has three to four times the NBA firepower of even – forget average programs – of the star-studded programs. And once again, can’t win a fourth game. And I’m not giving you credit for the first two.”

Kentucky made it to the Elite Eight after beating No. 15 seed Northern Kentucky (79-70), No. 10 Wichita State (65-62) and No. 3 UCLA (86-75). Calipari has one national championship and four Final Four appearances in eight seasons at Kentucky.
Cowherd has taken a few shots at Calipari’s coaching recently. The FS1 host said before the tournament that Calipari was already making excuses for his team’s eventual elimination. He’s also on record saying Calipari’s players are usually “immature” or “underwhelming” once they get to the NBA.
