De’Aaron Fox reportedly has secured a multi-year shoe deal with Nike.
On Wednesday, The Vertical’s Nick DePaula reported that the former Kentucky guard had reached the agreement with the company. Fox is expected to be one of the top picks in the 2017 NBA Draft. He averaged 16.7 points, 4.0 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game for the Wildcats last season.
It will be interesting to see what becomes of Fox as a professional. Inevitably, some will track his progress in comparison to former UCLA star Lonzo Ball, who has gained headlines in recent months in part because of his extroverted father, LaVar. Lonzo gained attention — both positive and negative — after releasing a shoe of his own recently.
Certainly, Fox has star potential in the NBA. Nike, for one, is betting on him to become big.
