Benny Snell Jr. rushed for a career-best 211 yards, but it wasn’t even close to being enough as Kentucky fell to in-state rival Louisville 44-17 on Saturday in Lexington.
The Wildcats finish the regular season with a 7-5 (4-4 SEC) record, while the Cardinals improve to 8-4, (4-4 ACC).
Snell found the end zone twice for Kentucky’s only touchdowns. Otherwise, the offense was barely existent with Stephen Johnson throwing for just 110 yards.
Play got a bit chippy between Wildcats linebacker Jordan Jones and Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson in the first quarter. Unfortunately for Mark Stoops’ squad, it was about the only fight Kentucky had in them.
Afterward, the Wildcats faithful weren’t too thrilled with the effort, the defense, and coaching staff.

Ronald Rush: Disappointed, but pretty much what I figured.
Mike Rose: Did they give Stoops extension?
Rob Eaton: Jackson should have been tossed.
Brian Cunningham: Mark stoops does not know how to coach.
Joey Evans: Time for a new defensive coordinator.
Tim Board: Really don’t understand the play calling.
Phillip Johnson: Absolutely most PATHETIC game played all year.
Linda Sonne: I fell asleep. Doesn’t look like I missed anything.
Greg Vaught: No defense, problem all year, truly an issue, no surprise here.
Martha Burns: Quit watching, I guess they are satisfied to just be bowl eligible.
Willie Lee Puckett Jr.: How in the hell do you start 6-1 and finish up 7-5? What a bunch of BS!
Keith Hyatt: Merciful ending, no defense for Jackson today, offense sputtered, except for a great effort by Benny Snell. Game was lost before it started Louisville came to play.
Will Duff: We don’t hire our players.
Kenny Williams: Anyone who thought that UK had more than a 10% chance of winning this game was just living in la la land.
Ken Atkinson: Sound off: well at least it’s basketball season…
Terry Lynn Holbrook: Yuck, revenge is hard to overcome.
Erick Martin: Kiffin Kiffin Kiffin
Jim Emberton: Defense has got to get better, pitiful line and secondary. Congrats to Benny Snell, a great back. Hope he stays.
Craig Ward: Stoops + defense = no defense at all!
Robert Hall: Coaching staff didn’t prepare them well at all.
Michael Douglas Black: Mark stoops should have pulled Jordan Jones. He cost them the game.
Donnie Oakes: I got sick and tried of this game. I had to watch the game muted. The announcers made sick of talking about Lamar Jackson all through the game. These two IDIOTS sounded like Jackson was the only player of the game. Jackson is good, but the other players help out more than they know. I sorry just had to vent a minute.
