Former Kentucky head coach Joker Phillips has been hired as an offensive quality control coach at Ohio State, The Columbus Dispatch reported.
Phillips was head coach at Kentucky from 2010-12, accumulating a 13-24 record in three seasons, including a trip to a bowl game in 2010. His final season at Kentucky, though, was a winless conference campaign.
Phillips was a Kentucky lifer, having starred as a receiver for the Wildcats and having coached at Kentucky in some form from 1988-96 and then again from 2003 until his head coaching stint ended in 2012.
After he left Lexington, he was the wide receivers coach at Florida for a year. Last year he was the wide receivers coach for the Cleveland Browns. That brought him to Ohio, where he apparently was able to create a connection with Urban Meyer and his staff at Ohio State.
