A former high-profile college football coach-turned-commentator believes in the Kentucky football team.
Rick Neuheisel joined his “Inside College Football” crew mates on CBS Sports aboard the Wildcats bandwagon, as the crew put Missouri on upset watch this weekend, despite being favored against UK.
According to Tyler Thompson of KentuckySportsRadio.com, Neuheisel said coach Mark Stoops and the Wildcats even have a chance at making it to the SEC Championship.
“I’m with you, I’m on Kentucky,” Neuheisel said, taking Aaron Taylor’s Kentucky love a step further. “I think Kentucky has found a little answer, I think they’ve got a little juice on offense, and I think Kentucky has a chance to be in Atlanta.”
Taylor, the former Notre Dame All-American, had said “the trend is your friend” about the Mizzou/UK game, pointing out the Tigers are on a down slide and the Cats are on the way up.
The bold claim by Neuheisel — the former Colorado, Washington and UCLA coach — takes it up a notch for the 4-3 Wildcats.
After Missouri, Kentucky has SEC East games against Georgia and Tennessee. The Cats also will need some help, as Florida is 3-1 in the conference after topping Kentucky 45-7 on Sept. 10.
