As if Kentucky students and faculty needed another reason to root for the Wildcats this March, free steak dinners will come their way if UK wins the title.
As reported by The Courier-Journal’s Chris White, Bluegrass Hospitality Group is offering Kentucky students and faculty a free steak dinner if the Wildcats cut down the nets at the end of the NCAA Tournament. Bluegrass Hospitality Group owns Malone’s steakhouse locations in Lexington, Ky. You can be sure plenty of UK students will hope to bite into some juicy meat next month after March Madness.
This move is in response to restaurateur Jeff Ruby offering a free dinner for 15,000 Northern Kentucky students at his steakhouse if NKU pulls off a monumental upset against the No. 2 seed Wildcats on Friday in Indianapolis during South Region action.
Here’s more from the story:
BHG co-founder Bruce Drake said in a news release that he wanted to show support for UK after he “herd” about Ruby’s latest offer.
“After hearing the offer to support their local team, it occurred to us that Lexington’s hometown steakhouse should step up to the plate with a steak for every UK student and faculty member, if the Cats win the title,” Drake said in the release.
UK students and faculty should hope for amazing steak with a possible celebration next month.
