Kentucky has another quarterback heading its way.
Gunnar Hoak signed his early enrollment papers and will be able to participate in offseason workouts and spring practices.
Hoak committed last April and was the first quarterback to be recruited by new offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson. He said he has a great relationship with Dawson, which is one of the reasons why he chose Kentucky.
“I love how he gets out there and throws it around. I feel I fit in there well,” Hoak told Kentucky Sports Report. “If he was still at West Virginia, I probably would be going there. He is a great guy. Really knows what he is doing with the offense.”
Dawson has brought a more aggressive approach to Kentucky, which is averaging 26 points and 365.6 yards per game.
Hoak will join a program with junior Patrick Towles as its starter, with redshirt freshman Drew Barker and sophomore Reese Phillips as backups.
