Former Kentucky star Randall Cobb gave his mom the perfect Mother’s Day gift: He graduated from college.
The Green Bay Packers wide receiver returned to school and was allowed to participate in Kentucky’s commencement ceremony two weeks ago. Cobb still will have some work left to do and will be taking summer classes to complete his degree. But that didn’t diminish the moment for his mother, Tina.
“When he told me on my birthday that he had a surprise for me on Mother’s Day, he had to tell me so I could make arrangements to be here (for graduation),” Tina Cobb told Lex18.com’s Larry Vaught. “I could not have asked for more on Mother’s Day than to see him go through graduation at Kentucky.”
Cobb’s education isn’t done yet. Vaught reports that Tina Cobb heard from her son that his next step will be to get his Master’s degree before he turns 30 years old. Cobb, who turns 26 in August, will have to find some spare time to earn his Master’s in between torching NFL defenses on the gridiron.
