Former Kentucky quarterback Jared Lorenzen recently announced that he would try to lose weight after reaching more than 500 pounds. His efforts have inspired people from across the county.
Lorenzen’s journey will be documented in a video journal called, “The Jared Lorenzen Project.” As part of the effort, a filmmaker connected him with high-profile fitness and nutrition experts, as well as a celebrity personal trainer.
For The Win’s Charles Curtis caught up with Lorenzen and hit on several topics as part of a question-and-answer session. In the interview, Lorenzen touched on the feedback he has received on social media about his fight to lose weight.
“The response has been something I never believed could happen on social media,” Lorenzen told For The Win. “No matter how good something is, there are always people out there [who] cut it down, but this hasn’t has that.”
It’s awesome that so many people have supported Lorenzen, who played at Kentucky from 2000-03. It will be fascinating to follow this project and see what happens. You have to admire the former Wildcats star for his drive and bravery to take such a personal journey public.
