Kentucky is using a collaborative approach in its recruiting pitch to three-star defensive end Jordan Wright, and coach John Calipari is getting involved.
Calipari offered Wright a walk-on opportunity with the basketball team should he sign with Kentucky, according to CatsPause.com’s Josh Edwards. The 6-foot-6, 215-pound Fort Lauderdale, Fla., native also plays basketball for Dillard High School. Syracuse already offered Wright a similar opportunity, according to Edwards.
Wright is rated as the No. 28 weakside defensive end in the country and the No. 67 player in the state of Florida, according to 247Sports.com’s Composite Rankings. He’s received 20 reported scholarship offers, including those from SEC foes Alabama, Arkansas and Mississippi State.
Perhaps an assist from Coach Cal could help Mark Stoops add another talented player to his 2017 recruiting class.
