Brad Calipari, son of Kentucky coach John Calipari, is set to join Big Blue Nation in time for the 2016-17 season.
The University of Kentucky released an official statement on Monday saying Brad has enrolled in summer school, and will be eligible to play for the Wildcats come fall.
“I’m very excited to be a part of this special group of guys coming in,” Brad Calipari said in the statement. “It’s truly an honor to finally be with the Big Blue Nation. I’m very lucky to have this opportunity and won’t put it to waste.”
Brad Calipari spent the last two seasons at MacDuffie School in Granby, Mass., where as a senior he shot 47 percent from behind the arc while averaging 15.3 points, 3.6 assists and 2.6 rebounds per game.
He also played against incoming five-star UK signee Wenyen Gabriel, scoring 17 points off five 3-pointers in a 69-61 victory against Wilbraham and Monson Academy (Mass.).
