Even though Kentucky wide receivers coach Lamar Thomas left Louisville to join the Wildcats last offseason, he doesn’t stop checking in with his former players.
According to Fletcher Page of the Louisville Courier-Journal, that includes Cardinals quarterback Lamar Jackson, a Heisman Trophy front-runner that has Louisville ranked No. 4 in the country.
“It doesn’t stop just because I went to another school,” Thomas told Page. “If it does stop, then I’m fake. I genuinely care for those kids, and they feel the same way.”
Thomas was on Louisville’s staff from 2013-15, helping recruit Jackson to the Cardinals.
Jackson will face his former coach on Nov. 26 when Louisville hosts Kentucky in the regular-season finale.
