The University of Kentucky swiftly granted one of its lifelong supporters his wish, shortly after finding out he has terminal brain cancer.
Zachary Summers, a Casey County native, got to tour the Wildcats’ football and basketball facilities on Wednesday, as told by KSTV’s Clayton Abernathy.
With wife Alyssa and daughter Hadley at Summers’ side, Kentucky athletic department staff members gave a tour to the family through Kroger Field and Rupp Arena.
Sadly, Zachary has been told he has only a few weeks left to live, according to the report.
The full story will be aired on Thursday night on KSTV. Here is a tease to Abernathy’s story that was released on YouTube.
“Not only was it just a dream for him to see how everything works at Kroger Field and Rupp Arena, but also he got to show his daughter his dream,” Alyssa said. “This has been everything to him, and for him to get to share that with his daughter is probably the most amazing thing ever for him, because she’s his world, and basketball and football is everything to him.”
