Kentucky basketball: 2017 alumni game details released

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Kentucky basketball stars of the past will converge on Rupp Arena on Aug. 25 for two events: a Legends Game at 7 p.m. ET and the annual UK Alumni Charity Game at 8.

Although there had been some recent buzz that perhaps a team of non-UK NBA stars would face a group of NBA Cats, the alumni charity game will be an all-Kentucky affair. Two teams of UK’s current professional players will square off — but NBA rules prohibit the school from confirming any of that league’s players who are participating.

There’s plenty of confirmed star power in the Legends game, though, including Derek Anderson, Keith Bogans, Rex Chapman, Joe Crawford, Tony Delk, Kevin Grevey, Kyle Macy and Kenny Walker.

Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. for $5 in the upper level, $10 premium upper level, $25 lower level, $50 lower level sidelines, $100 premium lower level and $500 courtside. They can be purchased at the Rupp Arena box office or through Ticketmaster. There’s an eight-ticket limit per person, and all proceeds from the game go to charity.
